Ah, but "canceled" is the preferred American spelling.
It's hard for me to get used to it, though. I always spelled it "cancelled" when I was a youth.
I expected misspelled to be one of the most frequently mispelled words.And how much of this persists, given spell check and auto-correct? (I had to force my way past the auto-correction in the first sentence of this comment.)
Auto-correction is responsible for as many blunder as corrections.
