The Amphicar
"The fastest car on the water and the fastest boat on the road."
I saw one of these drive into Town Lake (now Lady Bird Lake) in Austin when I was an undergraduate at UT in the very early '60s. I have no idea if LBJ was behind the wheel.

I've seen stories about that before. Old Lyndon was a real card.
My dad didn't like President Johnson at all. He called him "Lyndon Bird."
Amphicars are really collectible now and a good one is pretty pricey.
Ted Kennedy used to drive cars into lakes too! Unfortunately his aqua adventures had rather tragic consquences for which, as a Kennedy he avoided the hard time in prison his crime deserved!
