They slowly improved from the big 1965 drop-off throughout the latter '60s...and it always had at least some interesting new material, even when Joe "Ross" was editing as best he might with the restrictions he faced...Harry Harrison and Barry Malzberg managed to so a bit better in their short terms, and then Ted White's decade and Elinor Mavor's brief coda were better than we could've reasonably hoped...There's a reason White was picked up by HEAVY METAL when he left Ultimate Publications...

I owned this issue of FANTASTIC. Loved the cover! This was the high point of FANTASTIC and AMAZING in the Sixties. It was all downhill after 1965.
