I would have probably killed myself if I had that suit as a kid. My mother pinned a towel to my shirt and I jumped off porches, stairs, out of trees and off dirt cliffs. With a suit like that I would have jumped off buildings (lol).
I spent some time with a towel subbing for a cape, too, and my mother caught me carrying the ladder to the garage. I might well have broken something if I'd gotten up there on the roof and jumped off.

Today the suit would come with a warning label: "Suit will not actually allow wearer to fly."

A kid I knew in grade school wore it under his regular clothes -- in case of emergency, I guess.
