A serious artist, and I've read only a very little of his work and never met him despite being in his neck of the woods for 18 years. It's too easy for that to be true, and surely all my fault.
I can't remember where it was, but I commented about one of his books. He contacted me and asked for my address and not long after a signed paperback copy of his Edgar Award book, The Captain, arrived in my mailbox. I just tracked it down in my basement and see that the inscription dated Sept. 25, 1998 read "To T. Kent Morgan my newest pen pal, all the best, Seymour Shubin." Other than a thank you I can't remember any other messages. I will have to read one of his books in his memory.

He must have been quite a nice guy, in addition to being a fine writer.
