My favorite is DESPERATE CHARACTERS by Paula Fox.
I was going to mention that and A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN.There should be some Westlake (DANCING AZTECS) or Lawrence Block books there too.Jeff
Haven't read the Fox book, but Block and Westlake are notable omissions.
