Some of the azaleas in my neighborhood in Alvin bloomed early this year, starting near the beginning of February. Some of them did wait until the traditional time, however.
Often times they bloom around here all at the same time. But because of the weird ups and downs in temps this year they've been blooming in bits and pieces. Beautiful but when they all bloom together it is amazing.
Yes, our azaleas are all abloom also (along with our camillia bush, which was helped by several very cold nights), my backyard (and our entire neighborhood for that matter) is awash in various shades of purply-pink. So lovely and so ephemeral. Within a couple of weeks, I'll be raking up piles of pink petals. Still, they're beautiful while they last.
