Since the only "cop" shows I have really enjoyed were Columbo and Barney Miller (Dragnet and Naked City were good, but I didn't enjoy them), I'm obviously not qualified to judge 8-) All I can say is that the "down and dirty" cop shows mentioned in the list hardly get it at all.

What? No COP ROCK! Not even a nod to HOOPERMAN!
Seriously, though, without DRAGNET of THE NAKED CITY, this list bites.
NO Streets of San Fransisco! No Starskey and Hutch! No COLUMBO!
Even HOOPERMAN was a work of genius compared to CHiPS...

"Homicide Life On The Streets" is in my top five cop shows.
Once again I remind everyone of BAKERSFIELD, P.D.
Also M Squad, Hill Street Blues, The Naked City, San Francisco Beat, and just about anything but most of these picks.
My personal top list, like several above, would include Hill Street Blues and Barney Miller for sure.
THE THIN BLUE LINE with Rowan Atkinson.
CHiPS and Castle...really? Hilarious. I say give some luv to the little remembered but damn gritty EZ Streets...and Boomtown as well.
