When it comes to textbooks, Texas leads the way--which is why school districts purchase enormous quantities of textbooks and then teachers create their own worksheets to use in class. The social studies textbook that devoted more space to Newt Gingrich than to Martin Luther King is, sadly, not an outlier.
Well, I don't eat out of state processed food, I get my own "bad" food made with fresh, local ingredients! As far as Texas textbooks go, I would be somewhat satisfied if most kids in school nowadays would / could learn anything!
