Hal Clement, Mission of Gravity, Galaxy Novels, 1955

I really like this book, having first read it in Astounding Science Fiction in the April 1953 issue. The cover on this edition I think is misleading, as is the blurb. Too bad they didn't buy the rights to the original Astounding cover. You can see it here: http://www.sfcovers.net/Magazines/ASF/ASF_0269.jpg

I loved this one when I was a kid, too. Also Needle.

Clement was The hard-science fiction writer of his generation. Asimov and Clarke couldn't touch him thus, even when they tried.
