There are a certain number of absurdities in this: Laurence Olivier's French Canadian accent, the submarine in Hudson Bay, not to mention the air attack on the submarine in Hudson Bay, and of course the route that the German submariners try to use to get out of Canada - from Hudson Bay to Winnipeg, to Banff to Niagara Falls but for some absurd reason I rather like it. Maybe it's because some scenes were in fact shot in Canada at the beginning of World War II, or maybe it's that they actually included a Canadian in the cast (Raymond Massey).
