Once Again, Texas Leads the Way

NBC Dallas-Fort Worth: A Texas state trooper on Monday captured a rattlesnake at an Eastland elementary school -- four days after it bit a second-grader.

Our elementary school principal kept a rattlesnake's rattle in his desk drawer. It came from a snake he encountered outside a second grade classroom. It became part of his legend. When he retired I was on the committee to interview new principals and you can bet one of our questions was, 'If you encounter a rattlesnake...'
