I Give Up

Last night during a break during the last inning of the baseball game between the Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros, one of the post-game guys was inviting us to watch him and someone else discuss the game. He said we could "join he and myself" for the discussion.

I can see you banging your head against the wall now. As if it wasn't bad enough watching the Astros to begin with...

Well, it's actually worse. My fingers apparently wouldn't type the actual remark, so I had to go back and fix it.

And you're right about the Astros. Dogs of the league. And will be for years to come, I guess.

I understand your pain. My's wife do too.

Maybe he'd been watching too many of his kid's Stitch movies. Me think so.

I was watching that game on Fox Sports Southwest last night, but I must have fallen asleep before the dreaded grammatical error. Using "he and myself" as the objects of a preposition was probably the least of their grammatical sins. The woman who sometimes hosts part of the pre-game show is particularly annoying in her uses (and misuses) of grammar.

I can't blame you for falling asleep. Lord knows, I wish I had. The comment was during the break in the 9th, I think. I've never seen the pre-game show. Which I guess is a good thing.
