I love director Minoru Kawasaki. Executive Koala, about a koala salaryman who might also be a serial killer, is one of my favorite films of the Oughties, completely deranged in a good way. He has also made movies about a crab soccer goalie, and a cop whose toupee is a lethal weapon when tossed.
This is known as The Calamari Wrestler, and it's a hoot and a half. It and Executive Koala are well worth checking out. The other two Minoru Kawasaki films I've seen (Rug Cop and The World Sinks Except Japan) aren't as good.
