Once Again, Texas Leads the Way

Texas Financial Firm Accused of Fraud - NYTimes.com: "HOUSTON — The Securities and Exchange Commission accused Robert Allen Stanford, the chief of the Stanford Financial Group, on Tuesday of conducting “a massive ongoing fraud” in the sale of about $8 billion of high-yielding certificates of deposit held in the firm’s bank in Antigua. Also named in the suit were two other executives and some affiliates of the financial group."

Allen Stanford is from my hometown of Mexia, Texas.

Not sure what my favorite Allen Stanford tidbit is, that he refers to himself as "Sir Allen" because he was knighted by the former prime minister of Antigua, or that he once used his private jet to fly a priest showing signs of stigmata to New York City.

I just wish he and Anna Nicole had gotten together.

It seems like you would have to juggle the CDs on a very rapid schedule if you wanted to pull off a pyramid scheme. Is Stanford that slick?
