I had plastic ones that were gun-shaped flaslights...black with yellow highlights/lens cap and blue with red...and you could swap the caps, for artistic fulfillment. No fun noises, however, as I gather the tin Buck Rogers and such toys of the '30s were good for.
Vaguely wonder what my old plastic ones might go for these days.
