Nats Stadium: 'It's Going to Spunk Us Up': "WASHINGTON -- Now that the team has seen its new digs at the new stadium, the adrenaline is pumping for the Washington Nationals."
Every time I read something about the Washington Nationals I do so with a sense of irritation and frustration. I was a fan back when they were the Montreal Expos, and to this day feel that it was a mixture of deliberate malfeasance on the part of the last two sets of owners of the team and the desire of Major League baseball to get a team into DC regardless of where it came from. There was a deal in place to build a new stadium in Montreal when suddenly the owners of the team made demands for changes that - if they had been made - would have inflated the costs and construction time. And I have no doubt that if those demands had been accepted anothr set of demands would have been forthcoming.
At least baseball fans in Washington with long memories know how I feel, having lost one team to Minneapolis and another (after just ten years) to Dallas.
