My husband had a huge (ironic, I think) collection of Howard the Duck merchandise (remember, the studio thought it would be an enormous hit and there were so many tie-ins), including my favorite, Howard the Duck bedroom slippers. The slippers (along with much of the collection) became a Katrina casualty, alas!

The only one of them I saw was HOWARD THE DUCK, which I thought was a hoot.

@ Deb, I bet those slippers would have been worth a fortune these days, or maybe George Clooney would have wanted them...

TOP GUN wasn't a contender in at least two categories? The fix must have been in. Also inexplicably overlooked: Hal Ashby's dismal 8 MILLION WAYS TO DIE. My wife would have nominated FERRIS BUELLER, which she hated, hated, hated, to sweep the awards. I was comforted (in looking at the full list on the Razzies web site) that the excremental Judd Nelson abomination BLUE CITY placed in several categories).
