read a bunch of Garve's books back in the early or mid 1970s...I don't remember any titles, but the one I remember best...

The main character is being forced to sail a small ship/boat somewhere for some nefarious reason. He foils the plot by never going to sleep and sailing back every night from whence they came. That's literally all I remember about the book.

I must have liked his stuff well enough, though; I must have read 10 or 12 of them. Not this one, at least not that I remember.
