I may have been too young for the Peppermint Lounge but somehow I convinced my mother to take me to see them at Ben Maksik's Town and Country (your could look it up) on Flatbush Avenue, across from what is now Kings Plaza.
I was reading a little about the group on the 'Net and learned that Jimi Hendrix was the guitarist for a while later on. And "Now joined by original member, Dave Brigati, and singer, Bobby Valli (Frankie Valli's brother), Joey Dee and the Starliters continue to tour all over the US and Canada."

This is where Felix Cavaliere and Eddie (and Dave) Brigati of the Rascals got their start.
Felix Cavaliere came along a little later. I don't know whether he's on this recording.
You can really hear them in the background of "The Peppermint Twist."
And don't forget Joe Pesci, Deb.

I miss the old days.
