I love Kelly Freas covers! Lancer had an amazing ability to get top SF artists to do their paperback covers.

Great cover and I really enjoyed the book. Hubbard was first and foremost a good pulp writer. And George is right--Lancer did get some fine work our of sf cover artists. But then Lancer, for all its troubles, was an interesting if somewhat eccentric line of books. But they had the worst gluing of all the lesser houses. A lot of my Lancers fell apart after a few years. But Larry Shaw was a fine editor and a great guy.

One of my favorite books and covers as well. Fond memories of discovering it way back when!

In my book Hubbard was a monster with all the conscience of Hitler. Too bad he didn't stick with pulp writing.
