Taking a break (no pun intended) from his Jack Keller series, J. D. Rhoades has a bunch of new characters in his latest thriller. Undercover FBI agent Tony Wolf has been hiding out for the last four years from a criminal gang, one of whom wants to cripple him. The others just want to kill him. Wolf hasn't even been able to tell his wife, who's also an agent, that he's alive because there's a traitor in the ranks.
Now, because he's a good samaritan, Wolf has been exposed, and everybody's after him. Explosions, gun battles, and Blood Eagles ensue. It's all fast and furious, and you might not even notice the risk that Rhoades has taken with the structure of the book because he pulls it off so well. I think this was supposed to be a standalone, but I, for one, wouldn't be surprised if we saw Tony Wolf again. Check it out.
