Another Day at MDA

Judy and I will be at MD Anderson all day today. She's going to get the full array of tests: bone marrow biopsy, CT-scan, PET scan. Our son is visiting from Austin, and he'll stay here at the house with his grandmother while we're gone. We hope this is going to be the last of the testing for a while, and of course we're hoping that the results are all positive. Judy's feeling like a lab rat about now, and she thinks that once you get into the hands of the medical establishment, they never let you go. But at least maybe they'll give her a short break.

We know she'll do well and you folks can get back to your lives without worry.

Thanks, all. We're back, and Judy's happy that she's done with being a lab rat for a while. We get the results in a couple of days.

Excellent. May no invasive visits be necessary in the future.

My mother just had a brief scare on Friday in the wee hours and a not so long, but irritating to her, weekend spent in hospital, with no conclusions drawn yet (but at least stroke and heart attack ruled out). One's sense of impotence is certainly hammered home as one stands by...not so much impotence with the medical staff, they can be at least chewed out when they're screwing around (living with a doctor has left me with no fear of this), but impotence in the face of what can befall us. Always happy when things prove out at least reasonably OK...

You've pretty much nailed the feelings. Impotence is the worst.
