Happy Birthday, Elmore Leonard!

The first Elmore Leonard novel I read was Fifty-Two Pick-Up, way back in the mid-70s. After that I went out and picked up some of the earlier stuff, including several of the westerns, which is a good thing. I might not want to pay the prices some of them are bringing these days. Leonard's books have brought me a lot of reading pleasure over the years, and you're missing a treat if you haven't tried them. Leonard was born on this day in 1925, so here's wishing him a great day.

His books hooked me on reading. i still don't think anyone does western or crime fiction better.
