I was lucky enough to know Sue, having met her through DAPA-EM and talked and joked with her at a lot of mystery conventions. She never seemed to get depressed or to lose her sense of humor. She was one of the good guys, and I'll miss her a lot.

This is the first I've heard of Sue's passing. It isn't a surprise, but it is a shock nevertheless. You always think they have another year, or month, or day. She fought a hell of a fight against that horrible disease and if anyone wants an example of raw courage, let them look to her.

I was in touch with her less than a month ago about contributing in her name to the Leukemia Society's annual walk and she seemed upbeat, asking what we were doing, etc.

She really was a class act all the way.
