I've read 7 of those--but none of them upon the occasion of their original publication.

Since it's the LitHub site, I didn't expect any of the 10 to be genre fiction, and I was right, and as it turns out, though I probably saw some of them as I leafed past, I read none of them, in the magazine or elsewhere.

At least they mentioned Ray Bradbury. But really, that's a terrible list. No Bradbury, no Richard Matheson, no Robert Bloch, no Ray Russell, and most incredibly, no Jean Shepherd. Although to be fair, I'm not sure Playboy ever called Shepherd's work fiction. Still . . . My list would have "Duel", "The Animal Fair", "The Parrot Who Knew Papa", and a bunch of other stuff on it.

The le Guin was a great choice, but I also would have liked something from Shepherd, Bradbury, and Charles Beaumont.
