Song of the Day

The New Christy Minstrels - Saturday night - YouTube:

The lead singer on this was Barry McGuire, most famous for the apocalyptic (and over-wrought) "The Eve Of Destruction".
Around 1966 or so, the New Christie Minstrels were kind of the house band for a folk club called Ledbetter's on Westwood Blvd about three miles south of UCLA in Westwood.
I saw the Christies there several times. I also remember seeing Bob Lind ("Elusive Butterfly Of Love" there. For the life of me I can't remember whether the club had a liquor license...

I saw the Christies once, but McGuire had departed by then.
