The Gilbreths cited in #5 were immortalized in the biographical novel published in 1948 CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN and the sorce material for the 1950s film based on it. There was also a book and movie sequel BELLES ON THEIR TOES.. The recent "remakes" used only the title and family size...
Just last Tuesday, I saw two employees of the Butler University library working on a large trash bin of skoob(s?). I said I understood why they were ripping the covers of the books, but it still felt creepy.
