Mad Max: Fury Road

I really enjoyed Mad Max: Fury Road.  I don't have much to add to all the reviews I've seen, so here's my little observation.  The Road Warrior was a western -- cavalry outpost holding out against the Indians.  This one is also a western.  It's Stagecoach.

Exactly right! Loved both ROAD WARRIOR and MAD MAX: FURY ROAD.

You just made it sound a lot more appealing, Bill.

It's probably not for everybody. Judy would have hated it. I loved it, though.

Yes! Although the actions scenes were too long, I got enough pleasure out of the in-between scenes to thumbs up it. And yes, to Stagecoach. Especially those fellows who looked like Apaches.

It doesn't follow Stagecoach beat by beat, but it's very similar in a lot of ways. I'm thinking of writing a small monograph on the topic. (Just kidding about the monograph.)

My wife didn't like it. Her comments were negative but, I have to admit, have a certain level of insight: "A three-year-old could have written this." "It's like one of your Spaghetti Westerns." I liked it, but it could have used a little more ROAD WARRIOR snap and surprise.
