Apparently Mary's not writing anymore. She was the GoH at the Austin Bouchercon and said she was working on a novel. If so, she still hasn't published it.
I don't get THE ROAD. There are do many post-apocalyptic books that do it so much better. Perhaps it's just a post-apocalyptic book for people who haven't read too many of them.
On a list Bill and I are members of, a suggestion that Ward Moore's LOT was not only more shocking but also better-written than THE ROAD, and preceding it by at least four decades, while dealing with essentially the same plot and background materials. But the CMcC is art, doncha know.

I haven't seen her since the Omaha Bouchercon.
I quit reading her after ACID ROW (2001). Her first three books were the best. I see she is still writing.
The one I wondered what happened to was Mary Willis Walker. I really liked her books.
