Um, no. Most of Ringo's solo songs suck IMHO. He should have stuck to what he could do (Carl Perkins) and not adulterate "Only You" or "You're Sixteen" (yes, I realize it was a #1), and crap like "Back Off Boogaloo" - WTF is that supposed to mean anyway?

And stay off my damn lawn!

I like some of Ringo's songs, but he's not the best singer of the little group he was in.

He lucked into the Beatles; but, in all fairness, he's always acted as if he was aware of his good fortune. I like "Photograph" and "It Don't Come Easy"--which have very strong Harrison/Spector influence. The rest of his oeuvre, meh.

Those are my favorites, too, Deb.

Ditto, Deb. "Act Naturally" and "Yellow Submarine" and "With a Little Help From My Friends" are also better.

I like a lot of Starr's work, probably because I play the drooms too (and can't sing). Speaking of "It Don't Come Easy", George Harrison cut a demo with himself singing lead that is 99% of the finished song.
