Love Dark City, City of Lost Children, 12 Monkeys, Jurassic Park and Terminator 2. The Matrix , Men In Black and Total Recall are okay. Not fond of Fifth Element and detest Independence Day.
the fifty best list has not quite as bad a filter as the ROLLING STONE 1970s list...but on balance, and perhaps oddly enough, the '90s set is much better than the '70s set...

Not a bad list, but leaving out GATTACA was a huge oversight. I'd probably replace Total Recall, which I didn't think was that great.
