1 4 THE NAME GAME - Shirley Ellis 2 3 THIS DIAMONG RING - Gary Lewis & The Playboys 3 1 DOWNTOWN - Petula Clark 4 5 MY GIRL - The Temptations 5 2 YOU’VE LOST THAT LOVIN’ FEELIN’ - The Righteous Brothers 6 25 EIGHT DAYS A WEEK - The Beatles 7 6 BYE, BYE, BABY (Baby, Goodbye) - The 4 Seasons 8 7 THE BOY FROM NEW YORK CITY - The Ad Libs 9 8 HURT SO BAD - Little Anthony & The Imperials 10 9 THE “IN” CROWD - Dobie Gray
Beside the Beatles song, the other big jump was #11: Stop! In the Name of Love by the Supremes, which was in its first week on the charts.
A nice eclectic mixture. Good stuff, mostly. I was never a fan of Gary Lewis and the Playboys, though they were a really good band. Just didn't care for Gary's singing. Such as it was.

I will get you the NYC list when we get back later. Of course Reparata made the top 10 last week.

Thanks for posting these, Bill.
Great just to read the "news."
Tears-jerking to play some of the songs.
I miss the old days.

i think it says something about both me and the nyc list that i could sing at least a snatch of each except the Four Seasons song...
maybe about as well as gary lewis...then again, have you heard his father trying to sing in earnest?
He had a big hit in the '50s with a Jolson-esque "Rockabye Your Baby."
I've owned a 45 with the utterly awful "With These Hands"--his attempt to be Mario Lanza.
"If you hate me after what I say...(spoken) can't put it off any longer...I've just gotta tell you anyway...
Bye Bye Baby, baby goodbye..."
Oh yeah, I remember them all.
Jeff the geezer
