Many years ago we had to hire a "wildlife removal expert" to get a family of squirrels out of our attic. Using a humane trap, we caught them and then drove miles away to release them back in the wild. The trapper said, "These days, I don't eat squirrel too much, but when I catch me a nutria*, I know what I'm having for dinner."

Laugh all you want, but there's nothing tastier than squirrel. I've hunted and eaten them all my life.
They are especially good if you cook them so the tire tracks still show.
