Christopher Plummer used a Santa Claus outfit--along with an inside-the-bank-partner--in the 1970s crime thriller set in a Canadian shopping mall "Silent Partner" starring Elliot Guild as the head teller and Susannah York as the bank operations officer. It's a great little film but not a comedy.
(It's also John Candy's film debut in a small dramatic part.)
