This lists are so subjective. Limiting 2 decades to 10 albums is very hard to do.
I am not a big fan of Rumours-preferred the earlier Peter Green led Fleetwood Mac.Always felt Stevie Wonder highly overrated. And never thought Sgt Pepper was the Beatles best album.
To me this list would have to include Forever Changes by Love, London Calling by The Clash and the first Velvet Underground album.

I might agree with two of them.

I've seen worse lists, but stilll wouldn't include a few on my list.

I'd take five or 6 of them out. The Springsteen, out. That isn't the best Stones. etc. Rubber Soul is a better album than Pepper.

Where are Crosby, Stills and Nash, the first Chicago album (Chicago Transit Authority), The Doors first album, many more. Steve is right, such lists are very subjective. By the way, I adore that Love album, too, but I doubt it would make many tops lists.

So, Bill, if you were to spend the time to make a list of your 10 in those years (and a weird contraction of the decades atop all else), what would they be?

Rick's correct...and more--PEPPER isn't the weakest Beatles album, but it sure is the weakest of their latter career aside from the kludges that are MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR and LET IT BE.

It's convenient that the best are all rock albums with the relatively weak exception of the Cash.

I don't know. I like some of these, including Pet Sounds. I don't consider all of them great, but they're all good. I'm a sucker for the Beatles' White Album, although I know that nobody else cares for it much.
