Another Little Update

And this time it's relatively good news.  All the biopsy results have come in, and it appears that Judy's non-Hodgkin lymphoma has "transferred" to Hodgkin lymphoma.  That doesn't mean that the non-Hodgkin stuff is gone, but it does mean that what she has is treatable.  Chemo will begin as soon as they can get it ordered and up to the room (hours, probably).  What's interesting is that the doctor says that although they've been treating Judy for sarcoma for over a year now, she may never have had sarcoma.  It may have been Hodgkin lymphoma all along.  You might think that at M. D. Anderson, one of the foremost cancer hospitals in the U. S. of A. they'd know about stuff like that, but they don't know everything, unfortunately.  At any rate, we're a bit more hopeful today.  Thanks again for all the support.

Missed this because we have "issues" of our own at the moment. Best of wishes and love.

As much medical knowledge as we have, there's still so much that we don't. Part of me finds it incredible that Judy could have been treated for a year for a condition she didn't have, but then I remember an aunt of mine who was treated for a slipped disc for years and it turned out she had...Crohn's disease! Go figure.

Certainly hope this round of chemo will be "just what the doctor ordered" to knock-out that awful cancer.

Things are looking up! At least you have a few more answers...and a treatment.

This is certainly the most hopeful news in a long time. Let's hope it's the first step in the long road back and this time they will come up with a treatment that really helps.

This os indeed hopeful news. We have been told during the first round with Sandi's non Hodgkins Lymphoma that it could do this in very rare instances and such a shift would be a good thing.

Or, it wouldn't and just fade away for possibly a year or more.

Instead, the shift she had which is even more rare was the other way and that is why she is terminal.

Continued thoughts and prayers from us here. Very encouraged by this and hopeful.

It almost seems like all the prayers and good vibes have had a positive result. I'm still holding my thumbs for you both, and especially the lovely Judy.

Bodies are in so many ways very approximate things. And medical technology and knowledge is by necessity even more approximate. Excellent, or at least verging on excellent, news indeed. Better luck to us all.
