Wow. I never knew that.

I remember when we were kids my father playing the 1962 "Tony Bennett [Live] at Carnegie Hall" album as we ate dinner. Amazing that Tony is still going strong.

I didn't know, either. What a guy!

OK, I had to order the album.

Of course, Tony did have an embarrassing attempt at acting in THE OSCAR, which would (if I may say so) make a good Forgotten Film entry.

I listened to it yesterday. It's very good if you like that kind of music, which I do. Lady GaGa is a fine singer. I have a copy of THE OSCAR (the novel), but I haven't seen the movie since it came out. What a classic.

You can't go wrong with Elke Sommer.

How true.

Never understood his appeal. Always bored me to death.

I'm sure Tony doesn't include THE OSCAR on his resume, but the movie has its campy charm with Italian Bennett playing half-Jewish, half-Irish Hymie Kelly, best friend of Stephen Boyd's Frankie Fane. A classic!

Glad you can recognize a classic, Deb. I believe Tony also did the voice-over narration, a la ALL ABOUT EVE or A LETTER TO THREE WIVES.
