When I first moved to L.A., that was where my roommate worked. It was such a happening place, a real epicenter. The stars shopped there all the time-- I had autographed albums from Bruce Springsteen (which I gave to my brother) and Joni Mitchell (which I still have). She was working there the day John Lennon was killed--by the time she finished her shift, every Lennon and Beatles record was sold out.
She was always giving employee discounts to her favorites--like Anthony Hopkins and Tuesday Weld. A chance encounter with Bette Midler got her an extra part in " The Rose". Although I didn't work there, I dropped by frequently. Fun times!

That must have been an interesting job!
