I've Missed Two of Them

Midwestern Novels You May Have Missed

I've missed five. No, really, I've read two. We recently watched Me & Orson Welles (which would be a good forgotten movie someday) and they put in a couple of scenes about Orson's love of The Magnificent Ambersons and his desire to someday film it, which of course he did five years later.

I'm guessing that was the #3 you read that I haven't.

Any list of midwestern novels that overlooks Ohio writer Don Robertson has to be considered incomplete. His THE GREATEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD, PARADISE FALLS, PRAISE THE HUMAN SEASON, and MISS MARGARET RIDPATH AND THE DISMANTLING OF THE UNIVERSE, among others, are classics that should be far better known than they are.
