I read 5 of them, mostly around that time. 1969 was a good year for me, I graduated from college, had a great summer off, hen got a job I liked and had some bucks in the pocket.

I've read nine so far, slightly surprised I've not gotten as far as THE EDIBLE WOMAN. Though the Carle would be the only one I would've read at the time, even if I SING THE BODY ELECTRIC (in a secondhand SFBC edition) came into the house not Too much later. 1969...moved from Fairbanks, Alaska via pickup truck with camper to Oklahoma City for the summer, then onto the Boston suburb of West Peabody by early autumn; read a number of books in my bunk above the cab of the pickup as my folks drove the truck...happily, nothing tumbled me out of the bunk on the trip. I attended kindergarten in OK City. Not daycare in the Murrah Federal Building. Remember how the World Changed So Very Much on 9/11, but not after Murrah? No, I don't, either.

Interesting how we connect certain books with certain periods in our lives.
