That said, they gain points for including the likes of MARTYRS, but lose plenty more for calling LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT classic or horror, or THE FOG classic.
Well, not every list you link to is goofy, but this one is very weirdly eclectic...mostly good taste (if a little obvious) in the early films, falling apart not quite completely by the end.
I've heard of all of them, but haven't bothered with a number of the latter-day ones. FREAKS strikes me these days as the same sort of propaganda about malformed people as THE BIRTH OF A NATION is about freed slaves and the Klan.
Not many--and hardly any at all made since the mid-eighties. I too am puzzled as to their definition of "classic" especially those later movies which seem to be nothing but hideous gore-fests.
26 - more than I expected. I'm glad they put the supremely creepy CARNIVAL OF SOULS on the list. Even the most jaded people I know (my kids) thought it was spooky.
Of all the ones I've seen, though, I think THE DEVIL'S REJECTS may be the most disturbing.

How Many Classic? Horror? Films are on this list? Particularly after a certain point, not so many.

46 of the list. Classic and horror? Not that many.
It's a goofy list, all right, but aren't they all?
81 for sure; a few more of the forgettable ones, maybe. A few of these I have never heard of.
Someone sure has a piss poor idea of what constitutes a classic.

I haven't watched more than a couple of the ones in the last 10 years.

I found I'd seen very few of the recent ones, too, Jeff.

...if less malignant in intent...(that Griffith's next film was INTOLERANCE, of course, simply boggles).
It's been many years since I saw Freaks, so I don't remember the theme so much as certain scenes.
Ive seen everything but The Loved Ones. A lot of crappy movies on this list tho.

33, and most from the early days.

I've seen that one, Graham, and I agree. It's a disturbing film, for sure.
