I visited Don & Maggie once, long ago, ca. 1970, when they were living in Mentor Ohio and their kids were toddlers. Like me, they had been lifelong Carl Barks fans, and the Barks issue of their fanzine, Comic Art, was one of the key early publications in documenting his work & making him deservedly famous in the comics world (his identity had been unknown until sometime in the '60s). She was at the second Milwaukee Bouchercon ('99), and I had a nice chat with her. Hope she cashes in big and spends it with pleasure. Art Scott
Ouch! If I was at that B'con, and I probably was, I'm sorry I missed a chance to talk with her.
I'd hate to say how little I got for my comics when I sold them in 1972. If I'd been able to hold to them they'd be worth a couple of college educations and a new house today. Story of my life.
