I was able to buy that set as a kid. So many of these weren't available in Canada - the companies obviously didn't want to go through the hassle of sending them through customs - but this one was and I whined and begged until I was finally allowed to send away for them. They weren't what I or any self-respecting kid was expecting. They were plastic "flats", that didn't adhere to any recognizable scale. On the other hand, if you were motivated, (or actually thought to do it which I didn't) they would probably have looked reasonably good painted up/

I never bought any as a kid but I have them now. Hard to believe, but they look nothing like the ad.
