Judy and I will out and about for a few days, and I'll have limited Internet access most of the time. The blog will soldier on with some scheduled posts, and I'll try to drop in from time to time.
This year Thanksgiving falls on a momentous date. It's the date of the Kennedy assassination, of course, but it's also the date of my mother's birthday. So I thought it would be nice to post a photo of her by way of remembrance. I sure miss her.

Nice picture.
I remember that Friday vividly. I think it was truly the day our more or less innocent view of the world changed forever.

My sister's birthday is September 11; her daughter's is August 29 (anniversary of Hurricanes Katrina and Isaac). Once a major event falls on a family birthday, it's hard to remember it again with pure happiness. In fact, we usually celebrate my sister's birthday before the 11th--the anniversary is just too somber, especially as she was in the military until this year.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Judy. Enjoy your travels.
How pretty.
A beautiful woman indeed.
I was once a great admirer of JFK, but the more I've learned about him lately, the less I think of the man.
