I've only seen seven of these but they were seven good ones.

Clearly well-meant, but as misguided in large part as any such list you've posted a link to, Bill. HIGH TENSION? No. THE DREAMERS? A thousand times no(n--even with Eva Green being as charming as the film will allow). Even films that should appeal to the self-tagged geek such as WITH A FRIEND LIKE HARRY or SO CLOSE are missing, and yet there's room for the aggressively dumb OLDBOY (critical darling that it is).

wv: colatio. Again, Bill, I ask you, what kind of blog is this?

OK, my mistake, I didn't let "decade" sink in and HARRY was released in 2000 (and got its non-festival US release in 2001)...but nonetheless. There are some esthetic judgments that are just Wrong. Though there are excellent films on the list, as well. I suppose we're fortunate a few daffy items didn't make this list, and while I rather like IRREVERSIBLE (as overdetermined as it is), it isn't a film for even the typical hardboiled film fan, with its almost ridiculously grim ending and working backward to an almost idyllic beginning, which can only be seen as that much sadder for what's to come.
