Whoever wrote this list doesn't know much about film history. "Detour" was one of the all time cheapies and for all its flaws is still a remarkable movie. At least two other Edgar G. Ulmer films also belong here. The list is too current for its own sake.

DETOUR! DETOUR! DETOUR!

Shot for $30,000 in six days.

Also, virtually every movie produced by Val Lewton, e.g., THE CAT PEOPLE, I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE, and LEOPARD MAN.

They also forgot Robert Rodriguez's "El Mariachi" made for about $7,000 in 1992 (the poster cost more). It's the best of his movies -- producers should keep him away from money.
