National Public Radio is changing its name to NPR: "No need for formalities here: National Public Radio now says it wants to be known simply as NPR.
So the Washington-based organization has quietly changed its name to its familiar initials. Much like the corporate names KFC or AT&T, the initials now stand for the initials."

Well, sure. But that wasn't the official name. Now it is. We can all relax and sleep better at night.

If NPR can just make Morning Edition's Renee Montaign get through one sentence without stumbling over her words, they can call themselves "Leapy Lee" with my blessings.
Diane is addicted to NPR. She listens to it at least 8 hours a day!
