Well, he was never the "real" Lone Ranger, that will always be Clayton Moore, but I enjoyed the episodes he was in.

Hart was much, much too old to play Jack Armstrong--but honest to my grandma, that serial is one of the goofiest and most entertaining I've ever watched. Wave the flag for Hudson High, boys...

Likewise, Hart was not the real serial Phantom (Tom Tyler) but got cast for the sequel after Tyler died. As rights to the Falk character lapsed, this became "The Adventures of Captain Africa." When I saw Hart at a con once, he was selling glossies of himself as the Ranger and also in the original Phantom outfit.

He did play Hawkeye on the tv series LAST OF THE MOHIGANS with Lon Chaney Jr. as Chingkochcook (i probably made a mess of spelling that name. He also played the Lone Ranger in an episode of HAPPY DAYS.
