I know it's universally despised by Howard fans, people generally hated the Ernie Reyes Jr. kid, and even though George MacDonald Fraser is credited as one of the writers, it doesn't sound or play anything like Fraser. Still, the character is one giant step removed from Howard anyway, and on its own terms, it's a better-than-average sword/sorcery flick from the period. Ennio Morricone's score isn't ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST but it suits the movie's workmanlike B-film vibe.
